As we move deeper into spring, fishing patterns across Napa River and Lake Berryessa are holding steady. While the seasonal surge hasn’t fully arrived yet, bass anglers are seeing encouraging action, and several exciting updates are happening both in the shop and within the Napa Fishing Club community.

This week’s report highlights bass activity, new gear availability, upcoming club events, and a reminder about the Napa Fishing Club facility now available for rentals.

Clubhouse & Office Space Available for Events

The Napa Fishing Club facility is now open for rentals and offers a versatile space ideal for professional meetings, workshops, and group gatherings.

This clubhouse setting provides:

  • Four individual office spaces

  • A large conference room suitable for group meetings

  • A welcoming environment designed for both business and social events

Businesses planning corporate meetings or organizations looking for event space are encouraged to explore this option as a unique local venue.

Current Fishing Conditions

Steady Patterns Continue

Fishing across the region remains consistent with previous weeks. Stripers in the Napa River, along with trout and kokanee activity at Lake Berryessa, continue following late-winter patterns as water temperatures slowly shift.

Striper fishing has picked up on Feather and Sacramento Rivers. Guides report 20-30 fish to the boat before 10am! Napa River and Bay action won’t be far behind.

Although anglers are waiting for the larger seasonal change, steady results are still achievable using familiar techniques.

Bass Fishing Showing Strong Momentum

Bass activity at Lake Berryessa continues to improve as spawning behavior begins to develop.

Recent trips have produced encouraging numbers of fish, with bass commonly falling within the two- to five-pound range. Many fish are moving into shallow zones, including creek arms and protected coves.

Successful techniques right now include:

  • Paddle-tail swimbaits that mimic baitfish movement

  • Drop shot rigs using finesse-style worms

  • Craw-pattern jigs targeting smallmouth bass

  • Wacky-style soft plastic presentations for steady action

Fishing shallow structure and working along points has been especially productive in recent outings.

For anglers looking for consistent results this week, bass fishing remains one of the most reliable options available.

Napa Fishing Club Programming Now Active

The Napa Fishing Club has officially finalized its activity schedule, bringing structure and momentum to the growing community.

Monthly events now include:

  • Guest speaker meetings every third Saturday

  • Skill-building workshops every second Saturday

  • Group outings and shared fishing trips

Major upcoming highlights include:

  • Learn to Fish Day – May

  • Club Derby – September

  • Camping trips and community outings

Members will also receive email invitations to join informal fishing trips organized within the club community.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the program is its youth support mission. A portion of membership fees is dedicated to helping introduce young anglers to fishing through equipment and hands-on experiences.
