New colors of Golden Boy Aruku Shad 75 Collection in Stock.
The Golden Boy Aruku Shad series has quietly become a local legend among anglers who know how to put stripers in the boat when others are left guessing. Its unique action and flash mimic wounded baitfish so perfectly that it draws explosive strikes whether you’re trolling slow through deep channels or burning it past structure on a cast. It’s that rare lure that works in almost any water — from the Napa River and Montezuma Slough to the open bays and clear lake edges — and the kind of confidence bait you reach for when it’s time to turn a slow day into a story.
For those who’ve discovered its power, the Golden Boy isn’t just another rattle bait — it’s part of a quiet brotherhood of anglers who know what really works when the stripers are feeding. The Golden Boy Aruku Shad Striper Collection is built for adventure, precision, and results — a blend of finesse and grit that lets you fish smarter, cover more water, and connect with something wild. Now the secret’s out — it’s your turn to tie one on and join the Catch Happy community that’s rewriting what “gold standard” means on the water.

Eagle Lake Trout Fishing Report: Tips from Bill Jabin
Sweeney’s own Bill Jabin recently hit Eagle Lake with family and friends, and the crew found solid trout action throughout the trip. Conditions were ideal — clear skies, light chop, and cool morning water temps hovering around 57 degrees — setting up a perfect bite window for anglers willing to experiment with depth and presentation.
Ron dialed in his success trolling bright orange Jay Fair Flies at about 2.5 mph, running one color of lead core line in 4–5 feet of water. Meanwhile, Brian connected deeper, using a #1 Red Dot Frog Needlefish dressed with Chrome Killer Scent around 17 feet. Both the Humdinger and Red Dot Frog patterns also drew strikes. The takeaway? Go bright and shallow early, then move deeper with flash and scent as the day warms — a proven combo for Eagle Lake rainbow trout when the bite turns finicky.
Napa River Striper Action: Luis and Friends’ Evening Adventure
Local angler Luis and his crew hit the Napa River last Friday evening and found the fish ready to play. Working the outgoing tide, the group hooked into several solid striped bass while casting white Keitech swimbaits paired with ½-ounce jig heads. The combination of white color and steady retrieve proved deadly in the low light conditions, producing consistent bites along current seams and channel edges.
It’s always great seeing our community anglers out there putting in the work and landing quality fish right here at home. Congrats to Luis and friends on a great evening bite — that white swimbait setup continues to be a proven producer for Napa River stripers.
